Paweena and Jonathan met in graduate school at the University of Victoria. Jonathan proposed on the Olympic Mountains in Washington. He woke Paweena up and went on a 4am hike to catch the sunrise at the summit. Want to see their proposal for yourself? Check out the couple’s video below:
The couple’s favourite wedding moment was when they saw each other for the first time. “I was blown away when Paweena walked down the aisle,” says Jon. The couple also had a memorable first dance. “It set the mood for the entire party,” says Paweena. The song the couple danced to was Most Beautiful Girl in the Room by Flight of the Concords.
As for the couple’s favourite wedding detail? Their wedding cake made by a local bakery was just beautiful. “It resembled the scenery at our wedding and matched our theme perfectly,” says Paweena.
