Pippa and Eric knew finding the perfect location for their May 2025 wedding would be no small feat. With Pippa’s family spread across England and Italy, hosting the celebration in Ontario, where the couple currently lives, felt impractical. They instead turned to Ireland, a bucket-list destination for Pippa that the couple had visited two years before. Recommendations from their Irish videographer led them to a privately owned section of the Cliffs of Moher for a dramatic cliffside ceremony, followed by a lively reception at a local pub in Doolin. Shared with 40 close friends and family members, the day also included a touching tribute to Eric’s Maple Leaf-loving father, who passed away just six weeks earlier.
Quintessentially Irish:
With Ireland as the backdrop, Pippa wanted every design detail to reflect the country’s natural beauty. From moss green invitations with envelope liners illustrated with the Cliffs of Moher to a classic green colour palette, the wedding incorporated several Irish-inspired elements, including a traditional handfasting ceremony and a special blessing of protection using sacred water from a holy well.
Practical & perfect:
With Ireland’s unpredictable weather and rugged terrain, Pippa knew she needed a gown that was both beautiful and practical. She chose a stunning mermaid-style dress by Lillian West featuring delicate lace detailing and a striking V-back that was “easy to manage and not too over-the-top.”
The perfect place:
With just 40 guests, Pippa and Eric wanted a space that felt both intimate and spacious. They immediately fell in love with Vaughan’s Pub Kilfenora, recommended by their Irish videographer. “We booked it without seeing it in person or trying the food!” said Pippa.
A rousing good time:
It’s no secret the Irish love a good party, and Pippa and Eric fully embraced that same spirit on their wedding day. The couple hired a local trad band to perform traditional Irish music, along with Irish dancers who got guests up on their feet throughout the night. The celebrations continued late into the night at the famed Gus O’Connors Pub, where guests gathered for more live music and pints.
Beyond special:
“Our favourite part of our Cliffs of Moher wedding was spendoing an entire weekend with such a supportive and loving group of people,” said Pippa. “With Eric’s father’s unexpected passing just weeks before the wedding, we were all reminded of how fragile life is and how important it is to spend time with your loved ones.”
