Historic ruins, lush spring florals and countless meaningful details set the stage for Eternity and Joseph’s unforgettable wedding in Antigua, Guatemala. With 70 of their closest family and friends making the journey to celebrate alongside them, the couple created an experience that beautifully blended heritage, creativity and heartfelt tradition. From the timeless ceremony at the Santa Clara ruins to a joyful reception bursting with colour and one-of-a-kind personal touches, every moment reflected a wedding thoughtfully designed from the heart.
After meeting on Tinder during the pandemic and spending four years together, Eternity and Joe envisioned a wedding that felt unmistakably their own. Every element, from the meaningful ceremonial traditions to the handcrafted reception details, was carefully chosen to reflect their creativity, honour their families, and celebrate the journey that brought them to Antigua.
An Antigua, Guatemala ceremony rich in heritage
Their ceremony took place among the breathtaking 300-year-old ruins of Santa Clara in Antigua, Guatemala, a place with deep personal meaning for Joe, whose ancestors helped build the historic convent generations ago. Against the weathered stone walls and soaring arches, the couple embraced an elegant palette of white roses, hydrangeas, snapdragons and baby’s breath, allowing the architecture to take centre stage.
Many of the ceremony’s most touching moments were woven quietly into the floral design. Eternity carried a bouquet featuring her family’s birth flowers, while baby’s breath appeared throughout the bouquets in memory of her late grandmother, who had carried the same flower on her own wedding day.

Their families also placed a floral lazo de boda around the couple, blending a cherished Latin American wedding tradition with floral garlands that paid tribute to Eternity’s South Asian heritage.

An artistic reception full of personality
Following the Antigua, Guatemala ceremony, guests moved to Pensativo House Hotel where the atmosphere shifted from timeless elegance to an airy spring celebration. Soft shades of blush, lavender, peach, lime and buttery yellow filled the reception with abundant floral arrangements featuring hydrangeas, dahlias, daisies and Green Trick Dianthus. Rattan chairs, warm wood tables and a checkered green dance floor completed the fresh, garden-inspired aesthetic.
As two creative professionals, the couple filled the celebration with personalized details that guests won’t soon forget. Joe illustrated every piece of stationery by hand, including the invitations, menus, seating chart and table numbers. Eternity, an author and journalist, created a beautifully designed 32-page wedding magazine featuring their engagement photos, crossword puzzles, stories and personal touches that guests could flip through during the evening.
Thoughtful details guests will never forget
The thoughtful surprises continued throughout the reception. Each table number featured childhood photos of the couple, while guests were invited to leave anniversary advice that the newlyweds will open in the years ahead. Custom Funko Pop cake toppers reflected the couple’s personalities, and every guest received a hand-drawn portrait created by Joe as a keepsake to take home.
With signature cocktails, a champagne tower, late-night Pollo Campero and welcome bags filled with authentic Guatemalan treasures, the celebration felt less like a destination wedding and more like an invitation to experience a place that holds deep meaning for the couple. It was artistic, deeply personal and filled with thoughtful details, proving that the most memorable weddings are the ones that tell a story guests can truly step inside.
