If your dream day includes timeless style, a touch of rustic charm and a dance floor that turns into a party, this real wedding for you. Katie and Chris’s Western wedding is proof that you can honour your roots, keep things elegant and still have a whole lot of fun doing it.
Tucked into the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, Azuridge Estate Hotel offered a picture-perfect backdrop with its sweeping views and elegant, lodge-style charm. The venue’s floor-to-ceiling windows bathed the ceremony in golden hour light, setting a romantic tone for the couple’s “I do’s” and the cozy, joy-filled reception that followed.
Their love story
As the saying goes, distance makes the heart grow fonder, at least for Katie and Chris. The couple, who met in university, only started dating years later when Chris moved to Calgary, kickstarting a long-distance relationship that eventually led to a walk down the aisle in November 2023. Their cowboy-country-inspired wedding, which included 140 of their family and friends, perfectly reflected their differing personalities – classic, elegant and fun to boot.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
Katie and Chris wanted a classic look for their western wedding, choosing the simplicity of long-stemmed roses and a small salted caramel cake for their wedding cake. The Azureridge Estate Hotel was the perfect venue for their vision, with floor-to-ceiling windows that set the stage for sunset vows.
HOWDY Y’ALL!
As a fun nod to Katie’s small-town roots, the couple passed out light-up cowboy hats on the dance floor, which, coincidentally, also lit up! The result? A glow-in-the-dark party that got people out of their seats and showing off their best moves.
