A quick outdoor ceremony (it was November in Windsor, Ontario, after all) sealed the deal for this couple.
Best kiss ever? Beverly was eager to kiss her new husband during the ceremony. “Standing there, staring at the man I love, made it feel like time was forever dragging on. I can remember trying to hold back the tears of joy as I stared at him, thinking ‘I can’t believe this is really happening’. When the time came to pronounce us husband wife I don’t believe our officiant even got out the whole sentence before I literally jumped on him. It was the best kiss we ever had and people cheered and laughed, but all I wanted in that moment was to kiss my best friend.
Who has the rings? The bride explains that the rings nearly didn’t make it to the ceremony. “My husband and his dad share a very special bond, so it was no surprise when he made his dad his co-best man. This meant that his father and his childhood friend would be sharing the role of best man, and the responsibilities that come with the position. It was agreed that his childhood friend would sign as our witness and his father would hold the rings.”
Seems like a good plan, right? The exchanging of rings was approaching, and that’s when things took a turn.
“My father-in-law very casually stepped out of line at the front and walked with purpose down the aisle. Once he had passed the guests he began sprinting to the main building, as everyone turned and watched him flee. It quickly became apparent that he must have forgotten the rings and it left Michael and us laughing along with our guests. He did make it to the front of the aisle and back in place seconds before the rings were requested.”
