Verses from a handwritten poem were inscribed on a trail of ribbon that led outside Stephanie nee Verhelst’s bedroom door on the morning of December 26, 2012. The moment Eric Vanderpol got down on one knee at a nearby park, Stephanie had run hundreds of scenarios in her head, but she was still surprised. After three-and-a-half years of dating, Erin proposed while visiting Stephanie’s parents for Christmas.
The duo met for the first time underneath bright stars during a bible study weekend at Nanoose Bay in B.C. Stephanie confesses she fell in love with his voice.
Teal, lime green and white details adorned the reception held at the Aldergrove Canadian Reformed Church on July 28, 2012. The pair said their vows in front of 150 guests.
Stephanie crafted a unique guestbook, a hand-drawn tree on a canvas, which all her guests wrote their names as the branches or leaves. The guestbook is hanging on their living room wall as a reminder of all the people who shared their big day with them.
