Tracy and Wayne met playing volleyball in 2008. It was love at first sight. Wayne proposed on vacation in the Dominical Republic in 2010. “That evening, we had supper, went for a walk, and out of nowhere, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife!” says Tracy. “I was in total shock!”
The couple was married in Cornwall, ON at the Ramada Inn and Conference Centre before 100 guests. “One of my favorite moments was when my song played for me to finally walk down the aisle with my dad; having him walk me down the aisle was something I was very happy to have happen,” says the bride. Her father is in a home and they had to jump through hoops to have him be at the wedding. “It was a lot of preparation and extra responsibilities and I have to thank my husband for taking care of my dad from the time he went to pick him up to the time he dropped him off!”
Tracy also loved seeing her husband waiting for her at the end of the aisle. It was very emotional and she had to fight the tears! The most memorable part of their wedding was having their four children were in the wedding party. “We included them in as much as we could – the ceremony, all the pictures, and at the head table.
Their colours were chocolate and lime green. They had a special cake featuring toppers molded to look like each person in real-life! “Our entire wedding party, parents, and pets were sitting around the cake with my husband and I on top!” The bride hand-crafted their wedding favors, table numbers, and invitations. She says it took a long time but it was worth it! “At our signing table, I surprised my husband with a painting of our entire family,” says the bride. “It was three years in the making!”
