It was a day of romance and elegance when Alisha and William Booth were married on May 5, 2012 in front of their friends and family in Cambridge, Ontario. Their wedding reception of 140 guests was decorated with black, white and purple details.
The happy couple met and became friends in high school but didn’t start to date until they began university. After a few years of long-distance dating they were finally together when they attended UWO for their master’s programs. When it came time to propose, however, Alisha had no idea what Will had planned. On a surprise engagement trip to Paris, Will had planned a special detour trip to Rome as well. Atop the Spanish Steps Will asked Alisha to marry him and Alisha notes that it was the best proposal imaginable.
Alisha says that her favourite moment of the day was her walk down the aisle towards Will. “Once I started walking down the aisle to our song, it really hit me that it was my wedding day, the day I dreamt about since we first started dating,” says Alisha. “The look of love on Will’s face put me at complete ease, and I couldn’t stop smiling the rest of the day.”
The couple’s favourite wedding detail was the flamenco guitarist that played during the ceremony. “We were able to customize all of the music so that songs with the most meaning to us played as we became husband and wife,” says Alisha.
