Today’s Bride discovered a new Canadian cookbook that caters to anyone who loves to bake.
The Sweetapolita Bake Book, by Rosie Alyea, has everything yummy from cakes to candied carnival popcorn. There are cookies decorated with edible chalk that could be easily adapted to make edible placecards.
The Red Velvet cakelet starts with baking a Red Velvet cake batter poured into individual liners. After they are frosted, sprinkles are put on a plate and, with the tiny cakes held sideways against the plate and gently turned, the sprinkles are added. So simple and so effective.
So if you’re having cupcakes at your wedding, showcase them on an oversize three-tiered plate. It may be that the gifts of time and talent are the best gifts of all. They are given with love, and a gift doesn’t get any better than that!
