Matthew and Amrit first met in a high school computer engineering class. Matt was told to sit next to Amrit for being disruptive and from there, their relationship grew.
Matt took Amrit back to where it all started to propose. Matt had set up a note with a picture and a blue rose in different areas of the school that the couple used to hang out in. From the stairwell, to the common area, to the desk they shared in English class, it was a very romantic and nostalgic stroll down memory lane. Once Amrit made her way to the Chemistry lab, there was a blindfold for waiting. With a little help from her brother-in-law, Amrit made her way to the football field. There she discovered that the whole field had been outlined in candles with a heart of candles in the middle of the field. Matt was in the middle of the heart waiting for Amrit where he got down on one knee and popped the question.
Looking back, one of the couple’s favourite wedding moments was taking that first look at one another before each of their ceremonies. “The smile and the look in his eyes made everything worth it,” says Amrit.
As for the couple’s favourite wedding details, they were both big fans of their custom DIY projects. “There were so many things we made ourselves, our money box, menu cards, seating charts and even our invitations.” says Amrit. But the couple was not short on help for their big day. “My maid of honour put the candy table together for Matt and I, and not only did she try to go along with the blue and green theme but she had all of our favorite candy.”
