Chiara and Johnny met on Tinder. Yes, it’s true they’re a Tinder success story. On their first date Johnny suggested they get a disposable camera and take funny pictures together. It was around Christmas time so they snuck into the Santa’s workshop set up at the local mall after it was closed and took some hilarious pictures. The couple had several great dates after that and soon made things official.
Chiara and Johnny had planned a road trip through Europe to visit their cultural heritages (Spanish/Portuguese and Italian). Of course what romantic trip would be complete without a trip to the Eiffel tower? Yet Johnny waited until they drove back to Lisbon to propose. The two stopped in a small town that Johnny said he had always wanted to visit because it was where his last name originated. In the small village of Ponte De Lima, Chiara and Johnny went for a walk after dinner on a bridge (that his family is named after) and it was then that he got down on one knee and proposed. First, Johnny asked some tourists to take a picture of them but as he handed them the camera he put it on video mode and they recorded the whole thing. “It was so beautiful and the perfect end to an amazing trip with my soon-to-be husband,” says Chiara. The couple wasted no time in planning their wedding – they had the guest list finished on the plane ride home!
So what was Chiara and Johnny’s favourite wedding moment? Becoming husband and wife of course! “Seeing all of our friends and family there to support us, watch us exchange vows, was something special we’ll both never forget,” says the bride.
