Kimberly moved to England in 2011 on a 10-month teaching contract. After a difficult day at work she caught a later train than usual. She noticed a very handsome man sitting in front of her. Adam decided to talk to her and even though she was only on the train for one more stop (5 minutes), Adam could not have been cuter as he scrambled to hand Kimberly a business card.
Once the couple began dating, they took a trip to Lille, France for a concert before heading to Bruges, Belgium. As they were driving around, Kimberly couldn’t understand why Adam wanted to wear such nice clothes for a car ride. Once the couple arrived at the hotel, there was champagne waiting in the room, but Kimberly was absolutely clueless. Just as she turned around, Adam was down on one knee and the rest was history.
One of the couple’s favourite moments has to be the special surprises both their fathers planned. Kimberly’s father recorded himself singing Billy Joel’s ‘Lullabye’ for the father/daughter dance. “It was such a beautiful moment to dance to his voice whilst he sang along quietly,” says the bride.
Adam’s father wrote a letter to HRH Queen Elizabeth II informing her majesty of the couple’s upcoming wedding. Though the Queen only personally responds to 100th birthday messages and diamond wedding anniversaries, Adam’s family received a lovely greeting from a Lady-in-Waiting on the Queen’s behalf!
As for the couple’s favourite wedding details, Tracy Forster, Adam’s mother, put together all the bouquets and centrepieces. “We were so blessed to have our day so family-focused and walking down the aisle holding flowers from my mother-in-law was a really lovely way to start the joining of our two families,” says the bride.
