These world travellers settled for a few moments to be married in Toronto, on Canada Day.
How they met: Christin says, “I was born in Trinidad and migrated to Canada when I was five. Dávid is Hungarian, born and raised. In 2010 we both left home for London, UK; however, we would not meet until 2013 when we both relocated to Abu Dhabi. We have since lived in Berlin and recently decided to relocate to South Korea. In our eight years abroad, we have met some wonderful people and our wedding was reflective of our journey. We had 50 guests, but had 15 nationalities represented.”
Favourite moment: “We have two,” says Christin. “The first was our ceremony. From my processional to jumping the broom, it was perfect start to finish. It was a blessing that my grandfather made the trip from Trinidad to witness our union and give his blessing. The second was our parents’ speeches; both had us in stitches and then moved the room to tears.”
What went wrong: The wedding had to be completely re-planned six weeks from the wedding date when the original location on Toronto’s Ward Island was flooded.
Unique details: A chalkboard-finished cake (the bride is a teacher), traditional Trinidadian rum cake favours and vintage table settings.
